The Things That Help

 1. Self Motivation

I love being self motivated. I will read self help books like a librarian on fire.
I love love love LOVE a good challenge, and keeping up with all the fun things that come with self motivation. Looking up your interest, learning how to stay healthy, learning from yourself, going against fears, learning from others and all that sweet jazz.

One of my favourite guys is Benjamin Franklin. That dude is so wise in my opinion. He wrote about finances and little things that help you keep your life together.
There's also the Bible and the Catechism. It's nice to know that when you have problems you can look up all these amazing ways to help you. I have one Bible that has negative feelings listed in the back so you can find where Jesus and God talk about them.
I like self motivation because it also keeps you focused on the positives in life. I'm a very optimistic person but I have not always been! It's from reading all these self help books and growing ever so closer in my faith with God.

I know a lot of self help books are kinda dumb. Honestly, they all say the same thing, but you can typically just read the chapter names, read whatever bullet points are in that chapter, and the first and last paragraphs of the chapter to get all the information you need.

The good thing about reading so many is that you can take someone's interpretation to gain a better understanding of the same concept. You don't have to agree with the ideas but you can hear them out and apply some of the POV to your own life. It's a great way to grow and challenge yourself. At least it is for me.

When I find a really good motivational book I tend to by them and research the author. One of my favorite authors today is Deepak Chapra. I love the way he writes. It's very understandable and he explains everything you need to know about what he's talking about. I don't know how authentic he really is (if he's just in it for the money or what) but he is a very good author and I love his concepts nonetheless.

Besides books, I also watch a lot of motivational videos on YouTube. I normally stick to strictly Catholic videos. I do this because it helps me stay motivated religiously. I also watch videos to help with charisma and reading people and social situations. Also, health and fitness.

I also go to church every week to listen to the word and the homilies. I love hearing about other's experiences so I can apply what they've learned to my life. Everyone is wise in their own way. Even a child could have something to say that you never thought about.

This "self motivation" is a broad topic. Maybe It would better be said "I like to learn and think- deep".

2. Talking to People I Look Up To

This a bit of a challenge itself.

I love talking to the people I look up to, only I get shy. Super shy. Stupid shy. I'm talking word vomit galore. But talking to these people is very important to me. They are my masters, my Obi Wan Kanobis. They know where the keys in my life are. One wrong move and I have to go back to finding that key on my own.

I become obsessed with them (dang you OCD) and will try being around them like a toddler on their mommy.

I want to impress these people as much as possible. It's probably a problem. I do know my boundaries though. I do act as normal as I can around them. They may not even realize how much I respect them. They are the ones that I think about before I make certain decisions. I want to be like those people.

They have traits I admire. They go places I want to go. They have achieved things I want to achieve. They have knowledge I wish to possess. It is my duty to work myself up to be like that. So people can look at me the same way I look at my successors.

No, it's not a matter of what people think of me, it's simply what I wish to be. I don't wish to change who I am. I just want to better myself.
